• Arrive into Bergen airport the day before your trip, transfer with us to either Voss or Gudvangen where you stay the night prior to the tour

We begin this trip with a scenic drive from Voss to the Sea Kayaking Centre at Gudvangen, our starting place at the Nærøyfjord. On our way we pass the Stalheim gorge before entering the Nærøyvalley leading down to Gudvangen at the mouth of the fjord.

The Nærøyfjord, Gudvangen and the valley leading up to Stalheim has been a popular tourism destination for almost 150 years -­ not without a reason – the scenery is spectacular and here we will be spending 3 days kayaking and hiking for an incredible Norway Outdoor Adventure!

At our base in Gudvangen our guide welcomes you and we first go through the plans for the tour before getting equipped with your personal paddle gear for the tour. Assistance with pre-trip packing and preparations are provided as necessary.  Our guide will ensure an unforgettable fun time for all the members of the groups they lead.

Any luggage or belongings that you will not be needing can be stored in our secure lockers at the kayak base.

This trip will take you to the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage area in the spectacular Nærøyfjord. We will experience all this from a Sea Kayakers and Hikers perspective. The itinerary allows you plenty of time to get to know the other people on the tour well – it is rather like a group of friends paddling together than a guided tour.

On the trip we will visit areas only accessible by kayak or boats. Late afternoon on Day 1 we arrive at our campsite for the night where we pull out our kayaks and take a well deserved rest.

After setting up camp you may relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the area. In the evening we enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner before relaxing around the camp fire.

On the morning of Day 2 we pack our daypacks after breakfast and begin our hike up the valley above Dyrdal. Our aim is to reach the highlands and summits above the fjords and get a spectacular view of the fjord from above. For walking the tracks, firm footwear is required, but hiking boots are not essential.

During May, June and parts of July we are likely to hike on snow up in the mountains as we go past the tree border – the landscape and vegetation is rapidly changing up here – we pass melt water lakes, snow patches and waterfalls as we make our way up towards the summits.

After reaching the tops and we enjoy some great views of the fjord, some 1000 meters below us, before we head back down to our campsite where we will spend another night with dinner and campfire after the days hiking. We spend the night at camp in our tents and get some well deserved rest.

After a leisurely breakfast on Day 3 we break up camp, pack up our kayaks and get back on the water late morning. We continue kayaking north throughout the Nærøyfjord and explore the magnificent cliff faces found here – hopefully we spot some seals along our way. We are entering a part of the fjord where take-outs are rare and will visit one of the more majestic waterfalls entering the fjord in the outer part of the Nærøyfjord We stop for lunch at early afternoon when we come over a suitable pull out.

Early afternoon we arrive in Undredal, a remote village at the Aurlandsfjord, where we  pull out our kayaks . Our company shuttle return us back to our base where we unload and sort out our personal items.

At the end of the trip we provide a airport transfer to meet your outbound flight from Bergen.

All meals are included. We can cater for most dietary requirements and vegetarians are welcome. Special dietary needs need to be advised in advance. Meals are fresh, generous and varied.

If you are able to spend 3 days this is our recommended way of experiencing the fjords. Escape the crowds and come along for a genuine experience with good company and all provided!

Q: Can we book a private tour for less than 8 people as well?

A: Yes, we are happy to run private tours for any group size as long as we got staff available. Pricing and inclusives may vary then, contact us with as many details as possible and we will quote you for a custom trip for your group size.

Q: How do we book this package?

A: Drop us an e-mail with a little info about your group size, ideal dates and we will work with you setting this up in our booking system as a private trip where the members of your group can book directly. Or you can send us all group details and we book the whole group in for you.

Q: I do not have the final group size arranged yet, is that a problem?

A: No, we can set this up anyway and you can take the time working out the details. Often we can lock down final group size as late as a week prior to the tour. In case your group size goes below 8, we may have to charge for some of the free services included in the package.

Q: What part of the season is best for this trip?

A: We run the trip all season and each trip is different in terms of flora, fauna and weather. We recommend Mid-May to Mid-September – the earlier part of the season has more snow and waterfalls, Mid Summer is warmer and September brings out beautiful autumn colours so pick your choice!

Q: Do I need to provide everybody’s details when booking?

A: Not if we set this up for direct booking in our system. You will receive booking information and a direct link to share with your group members and everybody provide their own details and pays direct.

Q: What airport should we fly into and when should we arrive?

A: Bergen airport (BGO) and arrive any time the day before the tour and we will schedule our shuttle accordingly. Please make sure all arrive on the same flight. We can advise people who may not be able to do so on how to travel direct to Voss if they cannot join our group transfer.

Q: Can this tour also be booked for shorter or longer itineraries?

A: Yes, we offer a 2-Day option (without hiking) a 5-Day option and can also set up a 4-Day option on request.

Q: Can this tour package also be booked outside of weekends?

A: Yes! Come Mid-week and we will increase the group discount to 10%!
