Kayak sailing (wind permitting)

This trip is designed to show you the narrow passage connecting the Bolstadfjord with the Sørfjord before we head into the Sørfjord itself.

The trip begins at 09:00 at our base in Voss where we introduce you to your guide and other members of the day's group. We ensure that you are properly equipped with your personal paddling gear for the day and then we're off.

The drive to our starting place at Straume follows the E16 mainroad and takes about 45 minutes. Depending on prevailing winds we may chose to run the tour in the opposite direction. The distance paddled on this tour ( 16-18 km ) is slightly longer than that on most of our other available day tours and we do not recommend this tour for people who are uncertain about their paddling abilities.

We will paddle along the narrow Straume passage, hopefully having good use of the tidal currents found here. As we enter the Sørfjord we paddle south for a little while before we stop for lunch where we will enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch, relaxing, exploring, swimming and taking photos.

If we are lucky with the prevailing winds this tour offer good chances for experiencing kayak sailing, where we hoist our spinnakers and cruise along effortless.
At the end of the afternoon we cruise back to Voss where we arrive about 18:00.

The tour is catered and includes our famous barbecue lunch and transport. We can cater for most tastes and vegetarians are welcome. Special dietary needs need to be advised in advance. Our meals are fresh, generous and varied.
